Mohamed Salah created a remarkable record as Liverpool overcame Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park Stadium courtesy of the Egyptian’s 76th-minute strike that helped The Reds get back in the game.

Palace’s Jean-Phillippe Mateta broke the deadlock with his 57th-minute penalty. After Salah’s deflected strike got The Reds back in the game, it looked like a dead-end for both teams.

However, Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot’s late strike that curled all the way to the bottom corner sealed the deal for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Salah scored his 200th goal and etched his name in The Reds’ history books forever as he became just the fifth player in Liverpool's history to reach that hallmark.

The 31-year-old reached his feat in his 326th game with the Merseyside club.

This was also Salah’s 150th Premier League which moved him into the league’s top 10 scorers alongside all-time greats like Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, and others.

The Egyptian netted his 14th of the season to help Liverpool go top of the league above Arsenal, who can reclaim the top spot over the in-form Aston Villa later tonight.

Salah has already become a club legend in just six years with the club as he formed one of the best attacking trios of all time with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane — both are playing in the Saudi Pro League now — and helped the Reds win their first PL title since 1990 and UEFA Champions League since 2005.

It must be noted that Liverpool are having a tough time dealing with injuries. Key defender Joel Matip will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

Matip will undergo surgery in the coming days which means the defender has potentially played his last game for The Reds as his current deal ends in June 2024.

Some other players, namely, Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, Alisson, Stefan Bajcetic, and Diogo Jota are also out.
